The Obama administration has announced the final schedule for the Conference on the Future of Housing Finance, which will be held Aug. 17 in the Department of the Treasury's Cash Room. The conference will run from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. EDT and will be broadcast live on the Treasury's website.
Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and Department of Housing and Urban Development Secretary Shaun Donovan will provide remarks and moderate the two panel discussions that will include the participation of citizen advocacy groups, economists, investors, market researchers, originators, securitizers, servicers and private mortgage insurers. The conference will also include six breakout sessions focusing on issues including private-label securitization, multifamily financing and affordable housing.
The Treasury Department states that the event will ‘provide a forum for public input as the administration continues its work developing a comprehensive housing finance reform proposal for delivery to Congress by January 2011.’
The full schedule and list of participants is available on the Treasury Department's website.
