Chase Opens Second Homeownership Center In Chicago

is opening its second homeownership center in Chicago, bringing its total of homeownership centers in the U.S. to 27, the company says. The homeownership centers, offered to borrowers with loans serviced by Chase, Washington Mutual or EMC, allow struggling homeowners to meet with loan advisors. The second Chicago location, 4730 West 79th St., complements Melrose Park center, which opened in April. "We created these local Homeownership Centers so our borrowers can sit down and discuss their situation face-to-face with trained loan advisors in these challenging times," says David Schneider, head of mortgage servicing at Chase. "They are part of a wide-ranging initiative to help families stay in their homes whenever possible." Each center features trained advisors who evaluate borrowers' finances, review possible workout options and field questions, as well as scheduled appointments that help reduce wait times. As a participant in the Obama administration's Making Home Affordable program, Chase has approved 138,000 trial modifications in the last three months, with 155,000 more in the pipeline. SOURCE
