Financial Times: FHFA OIG, NY AG Team Up

The Federal Housing Finance Agency's Office of the Inspector General (FHFA OIG) and New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman have reportedly signed a pact under which they will share information and pool resources pertaining to investigations into banks' mortgage securitization activities.

The agreement was reported Monday by the Financial Times, which cites unnamed sources familiar with the deal's terms. According to the report, the agreement was reached in recent weeks by FHFA OIG Steve Linick and Schneiderman, who is currently investigating banks' mortgage pooling and securitization practices.
