Now here's something we don't see every day in the housing market: a Frank Lloyd Wright-designed residence is up for sale.
The Associated Press reports that the eight-room home in Milwaukee is now on the market for just under $200,000. The house is one of six residences built in Milwaukee by Wright in 1916 as part of his American System-Built Homes initiative, which was designed to minimize construction costs with local materials while providing affordable housing to lower-income residents. The other five houses are on the same street as this property.
The home's owners, Dave and Jillayne Arena, bought the property 30 years ago and spent $36,000 in repairs to the structure and its foundation. The Arenas are selling the house because they are moving to Iowa.
