Freddie Mac Observes Rise In SF Delinquency Rate

Freddie Mac's rate of single-family seriously delinquent loans increased from 3.49% in August to 3.51% in September, while the multifamily delinquency rate fell from 0.35% to 0.33%, according to the government-sponsored enterprise's monthly volume summary.

Freddie Mac servicers modified 6,465 loans in September, bringing the total number of modifications to 90,126 for the year, Freddie says.

The company's total mortgage portfolio decreased at an annualized rate of 1.5% last month. Single-family refinance-loan purchase and guarantee volume stood at $19.5 billion, which Freddie Mac says reflects 60% of total mortgage portfolio purchases and issuances.
