12420_house1 Mortgage Applications Dipped Last Week Mortgage applications were down slightly from one week earlier, according to data from the Mortgage Bankers Association's (MBA) weekly mortgage applications survey for the week ending Sept. 14.

The MBA's market composite index decreased 0.2% on a seasonally adjusted basis from one week earlier. On an unadjusted basis, the index increased 24% compared with the previous week, which included the Labor Day holiday.Â

The refinance index increased 1% from the previous week. The refinance share of mortgage activity increased to 81% of total applications from 80% the previous week.

The seasonally adjusted purchase index decreased 4% from one week earlier. The unadjusted purchase index increased 18% compared with the previous week and was 8% higher than the same week one year ago.
