The National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) has unveiled a 520 square-foot advertisement in New York's Times Square as part of its ongoing public awareness campaign highlighting the federal deposit insurance program for credit unions.

The 15-second advertisement, which runs on a 26-foot tall commercial message board, features NCUA spokesperson Suze Orman extolling the safety of federally insured credit union deposits. The advertisement will run until Jan. 1.

‘With millions of consumers flooding Times Square for the Thanksgiving Parade, the 'Black Friday' start to the holiday shopping season, New Year's Eve and other days that see large numbers of visitors, NCUA's share insurance campaign has hit prime time,’ says Debbie Matz, NCUA chairwoman.

The Times Square advertisement is the latest in the NCUA's advertising campaign, which includes television and radio advertisements, a new website and a Facebook page.
