NewDay Financial, based in Fulton, Md., has received the 2011 Corporate Partners Award from the National Coalition for Homeless Veterans (NCHV) for its work in providing affordable housing to homeless and extremely low-income veterans.
‘It is important to me personally and us as a company to support efforts that help veterans reintegrate into civilian life,’ says Rob Rosner, CEO of NewDay Financial. ‘We are particularly grateful for this opportunity to contribute to ending the tragedy of homelessness among our country's heroes.’
The NCHV seeks to increase housing opportunities through the reclamation of foreclosed and abandoned properties, conversion of under-utilized assets to create permanent housing and more strategic community planning. These initiatives are driven by the Department of Veterans Affairs' plan to end homelessness among veterans by 2015.
‘We know there will still be veterans who need help in 2015,’ says John Driscoll, NCHV president and CEO. ‘Increasing access to safe, affordable housing is one of the most important fronts in this campaign. We are honored by the trust NewDay Financial has placed in NCHV and proud to stand with them to end veteran homelessness.’
