Settlement Office Expands Outreach To Servicemembers

The Office of Mortgage Settlement Oversight (OSMO) has initiated a military-specific outreach designed to encourage servicemembers to report mortgage servicing complaints via online forms.

As part of yesterday's Veteran's Day observance, Joseph A. Smith Jr., the federal monitor for the settlement, unveiled two online forms, one for servicemembers and one for ‘professionals who advocate for servicemembers.’

‘It is my responsibility to help make this settlement meaningful for borrowers,’ Smith says. ‘That obligation is especially important for the men and women who serve in our military. I hope that this information will be helpful to them, and they will let me know if they do not see improvements.’
