Six U.K. Housing Professionals Named To Queen's Honors List The U.K. housing industry was represented in the annual Queen's New Year Honors List, with two housing professionals receiving the chivalric title of Order of the British Empire (OBE) and four receiving the chivalric title of Member of the British Empire (MBE).

The British newspaper The Guardian reports that OBEs were awarded to Fiona Jane MacGregor, head of affordable housing at the Homes and Communities Agency, and Susan Ratchford, chairwoman of Northwards Housing in north Manchester. The four recipients of MBEs are Sally Hancox, director at Gentoo Green, for her work in reducing carbon emissions and fuel poverty; Winifred McGeorge, who was honored for her volunteer work on behalf of the municipal housing association serving Burnley, Lancashire; Anne Stuart, chairwoman of the Cassiltoun Housing Association, for her services to housing and community regeneration in Castlemilk, Glasgow; and Vincent Wedlock-Ward, projects officer at the Southern Housing Group, for his work in assisting disadvantaged households and encouraging environmental protection.

Almost 600 MBEs and 241 OBEs were announced as part of the Honors List.
