Veros Projects Strongest, Weakest Markets

g markets in the South are projected to be among the nation's strongest in the coming 12 months, according to the most recent forecast from Veros Real Estate Solutions. The projected five strongest housing markets for major metro areas among single-family residences in the median price tier include Lubbock, Texas; Oklahoma City, Okla.; and Waco, Texas – all up 3% – as well as Topeka, Kan., and Springfield, Mo. – each up 2%. The five weakest market projections through June 2010 include Port St. Lucie/Fort Pierce, Fla; Miami/Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and Las Vegas/Paradise, Nev., all showing 15% declines. Posting a 14% decline in Veros' projections is the Detroit/Warren/Livonia, Mich., market, and Reno/Sparks, Nev., posts an expected decline of 12%.
