The American Enterprise Institute (AEI) is presenting a free seminar on April 9 on the near-term future of the housing market.
The seminar – titled ‘Bubble Bubble: Is the Housing Toil and Trouble Over?’ – will focus on the fate of the government-sponsored enterprises, the efforts to reduce the federal government's dominant role in housing finance, and the role of the Federal Reserve as the world's largest mortgage investor.
The seminar will be moderated by Alex J. Pollock, resident fellow at the AEI, and will feature Jay Brinkmann, chief economist and senior vice president of research and education at the Mortgage Bankers Association, and Thomas Zimmerman, managing director in the securitized products strategy group at UBS Investment Bank.
The seminar will be held at the AEI's offices in Washington, D.C., from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and will be broadcast live via the organization's website.
