American Capital Mortgage Investment Corp., a real estate investment trust formed to invest in and manage agency and non-agency mortgages, says it has elected Gary Kain, the company’s president and chief investment officer, to the additional positions of CEO and board member.
According to the company, the board has also elected Director Alvin N. Puryear as the board’s non-executive chair. With these new positions, Kain and Puryear replace Malon Wilkus, who is leaving the company’s board.
“Gary has headed the company’s operations and outstanding investing activities since its founding, and there is nobody better qualified than Gary to lead the company into the future and to contribute to the company’s board,” says Wilkus. “I am also pleased that Al Puryear, who has been a member of the board since the company’s IPO, will be the new chair.”
