Home prices increased 0.27% in November compared with October and were up 6.44% compared with November 2016, according to Black Knight’s home price index report.
The average price for a home in the U.S. was around $283,000.
New York saw the strongest home price appreciation in November; prices there were up 1.36% compared with the previous month. It was followed by Nevada (0.76%), Vermont (0.66%), Arizona (0.63%) and Utah (0.62%).
The top five metropolitan areas for home price appreciation included Dover, Del. (2.11%); San Jose, Calif. (1.52%); Albany, N.Y. (1.32%), Elmira, N.Y. (1.31%) and Ithaca, N.Y. (1.25%).
