U.S. home prices increased 0.8% in June compared with May and increased 5.3% compared with June 2015, according to Black Knight Financial Services’ home price index report.
The average price for a home, based on closings, was about $265,000.
Home prices as of June were up 32.6% from the market’s bottom and were just 1.1% away from setting a new national peak, Black Knight says.
States that saw the biggest increases in the average home price in June included Michigan (1.6%), Wisconsin (1.5%), Oregon (1.4%), Washington (1.4%) and Ohio (1.3%).
