U.S. home prices increased 0.2% in November compared with October and increased 5.7% compared with November 2015, according to Black Knight Financial Services’ home price index report.
November marked the 55th consecutive month that the average national home price increased on an annual basis.
The average price for a home in November was $267,000, which is just 0.3% below the peak seen in 2006.
For the fifth month running, New York led all states in monthly home price appreciation, seeing 1.1% growth from October.
New York City led the metro areas as well, with prices gaining 1.4% compared with October.
