The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) has announced the launch of Project Catalyst, an initiative designed to encourage consumer-friendly innovation and entrepreneurship in markets for consumer financial products and services.
As part of the initiative, the CFPB seeks to engage with companies that it describes as being ‘on the front lines of innovation.’ This initiative will also enable the CFPB to identify new and emerging products and determine what products would work best for consumers.
‘We want to collaborate with innovators seeking to advance consumer-friendly innovation,’ says CFPB Director Richard Cordray. ‘These collaborations help us better understand what works and does not work to improve life for consumers in the marketplace.’
