Los Angeles-headquartered City National Bank has added Charlie McGann and Deven Mays to its Bay Area real estate team.
McGann (pictured top) was hired as a senior vice president and regional manager of Northern California real estate. In his job, he will focus on lending to developers and investors in the region. He was previously regional manager of real estate for Union Bank.
Mays (pictured bottom) was hired as senior vice president for real estate in the Bay Area, and he will report to McGann. He was previously a senior vice president and team leader of real estate with Wells Fargo's real estate division.
‘We are pleased to have such veteran real estate bankers join our team in the Bay Area,’ says Mark Forbes, executive vice president and manager of the real estate division at City National, who notes that the bank's average balances for commercial real estate loans in the third quarter were up 27% from the previous year. ‘We are seeing much opportunity in many sectors of the real estate market, and the Bay Area is clearly leading the industry's recovery in California.’
