Wind damage from Hurricane Michael caused $2 billion to $3 billion in damages to residential and commercial properties in Florida, Georgia and Alabama, according to a recent analysis from CoreLogic.
In addition, storm surge caused an additional $0.5 billion to $1 billion in damage, according to the software, data and analytics firm.
The analysis accounts for insured losses.
The post-landfall estimates as of Oct. 11 show that it is unlikely that inland flooding will be a major contributor to loss totals.
The analysis includes residential homes and commercial properties, including contents and business interruption, but does not include broader economic loss from the storm.
