FDIC Executive To Replace John Walsh At OCC The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) has named Paul Nash to succeed John Walsh as senior deputy comptroller and chief of staff.

Nash (pictured left) will join the OCC on May 21. He has been the deputy to the chairman for external affairs at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. (FDIC) since March 2009. In that role, he oversaw the agency's Office of Legislative Affairs, Office of the Ombudsman, and Office of Minority and Women Inclusion.

Prior to joining the FDIC, Nash was executive director and counsel at Verizon Wireless in Washington, DC. Before that, he was legislative assistant to Sen. Tim Johnson, D-S.D.

Walsh served as Acting Comptroller for 18 months; Thomas J. Curry was sworn in as comptroller last month.
