Goldman Sachs has made history in India by signing the nation's largest commercial property deal.
The Times of India reports that the U.S. financial services giant has signed a lease for a 1.6 million square-foot property in Bangalore. The property will serve as the central location for Goldman Sachs' back-office operations, which is currently spread across six different offices in Bangalore. Goldman Sachs has hired the New York-based architect firm Pei Cobb Freed & Partners to design the three-building office complex for the property.
‘This new lease is to consolidate our presence and to accommodate future growth in the country,’ says a Goldman Sachs spokesperson.
