H. Burton Embry, executive vice president and chief compliance officer for Primary Residential Mortgage Inc., has been named president of the Mortgage Compliance Professionals Association of America (MCPAOA), a new organization for mortgage compliance professionals.
Embry has more than 35 years of experience in the financial and mortgage banking industry – with more than 30 of those years focused on mortgage compliance and quality assurance matters. He is a nationally recognized compliance leader in the mortgage industry, having been a successful regulatory compliance executive for leading mortgage companies, such as GE Capital Mortgage, Banc One Financial Services and NationsCredit.
The MCPAOA’s membership includes a diverse range of regulatory compliance professionals, including in-house legal counsel, risk management, quality assurance and loan servicing compliance professionals, who work for the nation’s state and federal chartered banks, credit unions and independent mortgage banking firms.
In the role as president of the MCPAOA, Embry will provide leadership for members to enhance their professional skills, keep up with current compliance trends and events, help enable the exchanging of ideas and best practices that will help members with their day-to-day business responsibilities, and help improve their institutions’ performance and financial stability.
In a release, Ben Slayton, founder of the MCPAOA, says Embry “will play an extremely important role in moving MCPAOA forward as the preeminent compliance organization in the mortgage industry.”
