Leonard “Len” Israel II is stepping down from his role as the head of Flagstar Bancorp Inc.’s mortgage banking division.
The company confirmed the news with MortgageOrb on Friday. No word yet on what Israel’s future plans may be.
Israel, who has about 30 years of experience in the mortgage industry, joined Troy, Mich.-based Flagstar in June 2015 as president of the mortgage division.
Prior to joining Flagstar, he held management positions at now-defunct IndyMac Bank and Citigroup’s CitiMortgage.
“Len is leaving the company, and his responsibilities have been reallocated to others within Flagstar,” the bank says in a statement. “We filed an ownership form with the SEC Feb. 1 reflecting this change.”
Israel has experience in correspondent, wholesale and retail production, as well as secondary marketing and warehouse lending.
He began his career at Mission Hills Mortgage Corp. and also served as director of CRE term lending at Sabal Financial Group, an international diversified financial services firm.
