Non-bank lender loanDepot has appointed Michael H. Wilson senior vice president of information technology and has acquired a team of 10 marketplace lending software engineers, led by Tony Jenkins, to enhance delivery of next-generation marketplace lending.

Wilson most recently served as chief information officer and director of IT strategy for Ball Aerospace. Previously in his career, Wilson served as chief information officer for several brands, including Option One Mortgage, Viet Long Technologies and First NLC Financial Services.

Per loanDepot's expansion strategy, the company has recruited 10 software engineers to streamline and improve lending technology and the loan application process. Jenkins, who has joined the company as senior vice president of software engineering, will now serve as the team leader.

Prior to joining loanDepot, the team served a startup marketplace lending company that was building a loan original solution from scratch. At loanDepot, the team will focus on improving the online loan application experience.
