NAFCU Hosts Session On Foreclosure Prevention

The National Association of Federal Credit Unions (NAFCU) plans to hold a free, two-hour session titled ‘Credit Union Foreclosure Prevention Strategies’ in Chicago's Fannie Mae offices on Aug. 6. NAFCU says this meeting is designed to help credit unions be proactive about foreclosure prevention.

All credit unions are invited to attend the regional meeting by calling 800-344-5580 to register. NAFCU members can also register online at www.nafcu.org/ChicagoRegional. Space is limited.

Jay Morris, NAFCU's senior vice president of communications, will moderate the event. ‘Keeping members in their homes should be a top priority for credit unions during these challenging times,’ says Morris. ‘This timely and informative session will arm credit union leaders with effective strategies they can use to help members avoid foreclosure.’

Fannie Mae Affinity Relationship Manager Tammy Trefny will provide attendees with a look inside the current housing market, examine what declining values are doing to increase foreclosure projections and cover how credit unions can position themselves to help keep members in their homes.
