The National Industry Foreclosure Counseling Standards, created by an advisory council representing lending institutions, community development organizations, real estate firms, mortgage insurance companies and the secondary mortgage market, have been officially endorsed and released.
The standards are designed to increase the professionalism, consistency and quality of service delivered by organizations and counselors providing assistance directly to consumers in delinquency and foreclosure, says NeighborWorks America, which worked with the National Advisory Council to create the standards over a two-year period.
