Chris Allen has joined Nationwide Mortgage Bankers Inc. (NMB) as chief culture officer.
Allen previously served in a transformative role as chief talent officer at Movement Mortgage, where he helped grow the company to over 4,000 employees.
Allen now brings his unique vision for organizational health, talent and recruiting to NMB with a mission to build something equally extraordinary.
Under Allen’s leadership, Movement became one of the most attractive places to work in the mortgage industry — widely admired for its purpose- driven culture, leadership development and people-first approach.
Among other initiatives, Allen developed Movement University, a unique training program that facilitated a consistent talent pool in an industry known for trading talent between companies. He also built the Thrive Department, which established quarterly initiatives focused on holistic wellness — financial, physical, family, professional, spiritual and mental.
Now, NMB is poised to capture that same momentum.
“This is an incredible opportunity,” Allen says in a release. “It’s an opportunity to help shape a culture that values people for who they are and empowers them to bring their unique gifts to the table. NMB is committed to becoming a place where people thrive, grow and do amazing things together.”
Based in NMB’s new Charlotte, N.C., office, Allen will work closely with NMB’s executive team, particularly Sharon Lafaurie, senior vice president of human resources.
Together, they will further drive leadership development, employee engagement and talent strategy, fostering a high-trust environment where doing the right thing for people is at the heart of every decision.
Allen will launch the NMB Leadership Academy, working to align the entire organization under a common operating system with quarterly and annual goals.
“NMB is committed to a culture that puts people first,” says Michael Brennan, president of NMB. “Bringing Chris on board reflects our commitment to people. People matter; it’s one of our core values. We’re building a company that wins because it puts people first.”
