11453_freddie_renzi Outgoing Freddie Mac EVP Lands At Citigroup Anthony Renzi, whose resignation as executive vice president of Freddie Mac's single-family mortgage-guarantee business was announced earlier this week, has been hired as chief operating officer of Citigroup's North American mortgage business.

The Wall Street Journal, citing ‘people familiar with the matter,’ reports that Renzi will replace Harold Lewis, who left Citigroup to become president and chief operating officer of Nationstar Mortgage Holdings Inc.

Freddie Mac CEO Edward Haldeman had announced Renzi's resignation in an internal email, but did not identify Renzi's new employer. Haldeman wrote that Renzi's resignation ‘comes at a pivotal time in Freddie Mac's executive leadership transition’; Haldeman has previously announced that he will be leaving Freddie Mac this year.
