Bill Emerson, CEO of Quicken Loans Inc., has been sworn in as chairman of the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA), during the MBA's 102nd Annual Convention & Expo in San Diego.
Emerson, who previously served as the 2015 chair of the MBA's diversity committee, is the former vice chairman of the MBA's residential board of governors. He also is a member of the MBA's board of directors and its GSE Single-Family Task Force.
‘I look forward to continuing the successful work of MBA's past chairman and charting a path for the association's members that properly addresses the policy, business and regulatory issues facing our residential, commercial and multifamily members,’ says Emerson.
Rodrigo Lopez, the executive chairman of NorthMarq Capital Finance LLC, and David Motley, president of Colonial Savings FA and its divisions, were also sworn in as chairman-elect and vice chairman, respectively, for the 2015-2016 membership year.
Previously, Lopez was the founder, president and CEO of AmeriSphere, which was acquired by NorthMarq Capital Finance. Prior to that, he was the chief lending officer for a life insurance company. Lopez is also the immediate past chairman of the MBA's commercial/multifamily board of governors.
Motley, who has more than 35 years of experience in the banking and mortgage finance sector, is the immediate past chairman of the MBA's residential board of governors. He has also worked with the association's advocacy programs as a member of the board of directors.
