RoundPoint Mortgage Servicing Corp. has launched a retail mortgage lending division.
The new division, which is licensed in 42 states, is run out of RoundPoint’s corporate headquarters in Charlotte, N.C.
Currently employing about 174 people, the division was launched in September to neutralize the subservicer’s portfolio run-off – but RoundPoint says it now plans to take it to the next phase and expand its purchase market opportunities.
The new lending division offers a full suite of mortgage loans. In addition to operating an online platform for those consumers who prefer an all-digital mortgage application process, the company also offers a personalized, high-touch borrower experience via its loan officers.
“RoundPoint’s more casual, relaxed, no-pressure approach to mortgage lending is something we believe is distinctly different in the industry,” says Kelli Yarbrough, vice president and head of the sales division at RoundPoint, in a release. “Education and empathy are the most important qualities we can offer to borrowers, and we make sure that human beings are available at every step of the process to answer questions and provide status updates.”
