Stearns Lending Hires Former Wells Fargo Head Of Capital Markets As CIO

Thomas W. Neary has joined Stearns Lending Inc., a correspondent, wholesale and retail mortgage lender, as chief investment officer (CIO) to manage and oversee capital markets, secondary marketing, portfolio investment and valuation, mortgage servicing rights optimization and product strategies, and liquidity management for the company.

Neary has three decades of senior executive-level experience in capital markets, mortgage banking and the real estate industry.

‘Our team will be implementing methods to further optimize strategies related to areas that include hedging, trading, best-execution selling and mortgage servicing rights valuations,’ says Neary.

Neary previously served as president and CEO of Homeowners Mortgage Enterprises, was principal of Toll Canyon Advisors LLC, and was executive vice president and senior managing director of RESCAP (GMAC Mortgage, now Ally Bank). Prior to that, he served as the executive vice president of mortgage capital markets at Wells Fargo & Co.
