Country music star Tim McGraw has announced that he will give away 25 mortgage-free houses to wounded or financially distressed U.S. military service members during his upcoming summer music tour.
The Associated Press reports that McGraw is partnering with the nonprofit charity Operation Homefront and JPMorgan Chase on this endeavor, which has been dubbed ‘HomeFront.’ One home will be donated in each of the 25 cities of the ‘Brothers of the Sun’ tour which begins June 2 in Tampa, Fla. The HomeFront program is being supported with contributions from the Academy of Country Music's ACM Lifting Lives program and The Premier Group on behalf of the North Carolina Furniture Manufacturers.
‘My sister's a veteran, my uncle's a veteran, my grandfather was a veteran, one of my best friends is a veteran,’ says McGraw. ‘I've known people my whole life who are in service to America. And I think in my position to be able to do something like that is probably the ultimate thing. It's going to be a great opportunity to set a family on track that's done so much for us, so I can't imagine a better thing to do on tour.’
