Now here's something you don't hear about every day: a major lender on a hiring spree.
The Portland Business Journal reports that Wells Fargo is planning to hire 90 underwriters to process mortgages in its Clackamas, Ore., home loans operations center. The San Francisco-based lender will interview qualified candidates next week, and the new hires will serve customers in Oregon, Nevada, northern California and southwest Washington.
‘We need more people to serve our customers,’ says Susan Young, the bank's operations area manager.
Wells Fargo also plans to relocate its home loan operations center from Clackamas to a new 50,000-square-foot facility near Portland International Airport. The new facility will house 400 team members.
