Varun Pathria has joined AssetAvenue, an online lending platform for commercial real estate loans, as the company's chief investment officer (CIO). In this role, Pathria will focus on sourcing deal flow and growing AssetAvenue's existing capital base.
Previously, Pathria was senior vice president at Los Angeles-based Colony Capital, a global real estate private-equity firm. During his 11 years at Colony, Pathria closed on transactions valued in excess of $20 billion that were focused on opportunistic equity acquisitions, high-yield debt originations and acquisitions, and portfolio management activities focused on restructurings and corporate platform investments.
