Ben Bernanke ‘Unsuccessful’ In Getting Mortgage Refinancing

Ben S. Bernanke is having a hard time refinancing his home loan, the former Federal Reserve chairman reportedly said on Thursday during a conference of the National Investment Center for Seniors Housing and Care in Chicago.

Bernanke, who earned an annual salary of nearly $200,000 as Federal Reserve chair from 2006 to 2014, told moderator Mark Zandi of Moody's Analytics Inc. during the event that he recently tried to refinance his mortgage and ‘was unsuccessful in doing so,’ according to a Bloomberg News report.

Lenders, he said, ‘may have gone a little bit too far on mortgage credit conditions,’ according to the report.
