Mortgage industry veteran Joseph A. Grimes III recently joined the advisory board at Blue Water Financial Technologies as a senior advisor.
Grimes was most recently vice president of third-party risk management and MSR financing for Fannie Mae’s single-family business.
Grimes has more than 35 years of experience in financial services, spanning residential mortgage, premium finance, asset-based lending, export trade finance, securitization and specialty insurance.
Blue Water offers asset valuation, MSR distribution, MSR hedging and electronic solutions. The firm’s advisory board is led by Nicholas Smith, founder and CEO of Rice Park Capital Management (RPC), Jeff Hilligoss, senior advisor to RPC and the CEO of Upper Bound, and Brad Farrell, senior advisor to RPC and former CFO of Two Harbors Investment Corp.
“I am both honored and flattered to be asked to join Bluewater as an advisor,” Grimes says in a release. “Al, Nick, Brad and Jeff are creative thinkers in this space and it will be interesting, exciting and fun to help translate their ideas into high value products and services for Blue Water’s customers.”
Alan Qureshi, managing partner at Blue Water, adds that Grimes “brings a strong grasp of counterparty risk and vast experience in structured mortgage servicing and capital markets transactions.”
“Blue Water is configuring itself to bring unique mortgage servicing technology and service solutions to the market and an expansive product set to its clients,” Qureshi says, adding that Grimes’ “experiences will assist Blue Water in executing this vision.”
