David G. Kittle, former chairman of the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA), has joined mortgage banking technology firm Interthinx as senior vice president of industry strategy.

A 35-year veteran of the mortgage banking industry, Kittle served as chairman of the MBA in 2009 and also served on the association's board of directors from 2004 through 2010. In addition, he served as chairman of the MBA's political action committee and vice chairman of the association's residential board of governors.

Kittle started in mortgage banking in 1978 as a loan officer. Over the following three decades, he served as CEO and president of three Kentucky lenders, including ownership of Associates Mortgage Group from 1994 until its sale in 2006. He also served as president of Area Mortgage, a division of Area Bancshares, the largest bank holding company in Kentucky.

He was president of the Kentucky Mortgage Bankers Association from 1992 to 1994 and president of the Louisville Mortgage Bankers Association in 1987.

In his new role, Kittle will oversee corporate relations, product offerings, business development and sales.

In a release, Jeff Moyer, president of Interthinx, says, ‘Kittle is a great fit for the Interthinx culture and adds a deep resource that will benefit our customers as they adjust to a period of industry recalibration and emerging opportunity.’
