Paul Weech has been appointed president and CEO of NeighborWorks, a trainer of community development and affordable housing professionals, by the organization's board of directors.

Previously, Weech served as the executive vice president for policy and external affairs at Housing Partnership Network (HPN), a member-driven business collaborative of affordable housing and community development nonprofits that combine social mission with private enterprise to develop solutions to national challenges.

Weech led HPN's policy team for five years, establishing the company's presence in Washington and developing its policy initiatives in collaboration with members and partners.

Thomas Bledsoe, president and CEO of HPN, says, ‘[Weech's] appointment is a huge win for the community development industry and the performance-based, high-impact strategies and policies we are mutually committed to achieving.’

‘[Weech] has made an enormous impact on the collective work of our member organizations to provide opportunity to the communities we serve. He's out front on the issues that matter most to practitioners in our industry,’ says Larry Swanson, executive director of ACTION-Housing and chair of the board of directors for HPN.

Prior to joining HPN, Paul held leadership roles with the U.S. Small Business Administration, Fannie Mae and the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs.

Weech will begin his new position on Jan. 20.
