Pleasonton, Calif.-headquartered Ellie Mae, a provider of software and services for the mortgage industry, says it has donated professional services to Acorn Housing, a national nonprofit organization providing free housing counseling to low- and moderate- income home buyers. Acorn Housing also provides foreclosure prevention services to assist homeowners who are currently in default on their mortgages to renegotiate their programs with loan servicers.
‘Acorn Housing has a very aggressive goal of helping 25,000 low- to moderate-income individuals avoid foreclosure in the coming year; that's more than six times the volume we've done in the past, and Encompass has really been the lynchpin in our ability to carry through with that initiative,’ states Richard Hayes, director of strategic projects for Acorn Housing. ‘Thanks to Encompass and Ellie Mae's Professional Services Group, we're confident that we'll be able to reach that goal with effectiveness, efficiency and ease.’
