Former Dallas Housing Manager Indicted On Abusing Authority A former department manager of the Dallas Housing Authority has been indicted by a grand jury for using her office to secure subsidized housing for her niece.

The Dallas Morning News reports that Suanne Spires Durham, the former department manager for the city's Comprehensive Homeless Services, readjusted the program's eligibility criteria to enable her nice to receive subsidized housing. When a department subordinate protested the change of program criteria to accommodate Durham's niece, Durham threatened to reprimand him.

Durham resigned from her position yesterday, issuing what the Dallas Morning News referred to as a ‘terse one-sentence email.’ The county government has issued a warrant for her arrest.
