Mark Besharaty has joined Hunt Mortgage Group, a commercial real estate (CRE) lender, as vice president of the small loan group. In this position, he will source and originate Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae small loans for clients in the western U.S.
Besharaty, a 20-year CRE veteran, will be based in the firm's Irvine, Calif., office and will report to the senior managing director for mortgage banking, Rick Warren.
Previously, Besharaty served as vice president in the commercial mortgage operations division of MUFG Union Bank, where he led company teams in implementing projects and growing production volumes.
Before Union Bank, Besharaty worked as managing director for Almas Capital in Dubai, where he oversaw construction financing for development projects in the region.
‘[Besharaty] is well versed in all aspects of the origination process for commercial real estate, including multifamily transactions through both wholesale and retail channels,’ Warren says.
