KML Law Group, a law firm that represents lenders in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, has hired John F. Goryl, Esq., as senior counsel, effective Oct. 1.
Goryl will work in the Harrisburg, Pa., office and represent the firm and its clients in central Pennsylvania. He will also represent KML's clients at hearings and sheriff's sales throughout the region and serve as liaison with housing advocates and counseling agencies in Pennsylvania.
Goryl will also oversee the title curative department, manage inquiries received from governmental units and be the firm's resident expert on Pennsylvania's Homeowners Emergency Mortgage Assistance Program (HEMAP).
Prior to joining KML, Goryl served the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as associate counsel for the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency (PHFA). He provided legal advice to PHFA on matters involving PHFA's single-family mortgage program and represented the commonwealth regarding legal challenges to the HEMAP program before state agencies and Commonwealth Court.
Prior to joining PHFA, Goryl served as legal counsel for the Senate of Pennsylvania Business and Commerce and Urban Affairs and Housing Committees from 1978-1988 and the Community and Economic Development Committee. He also maintained a private law practice in Carlisle, Pa., from 1979 to 1988.
