NAIOP, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association, has presented North Carolina-based Bissell with its 2011 Sustainable Development Award. Bissell is being honored for the Boyle and Harris office project, twin 10-story towers comprising more than 500,000 square feet of Class A office space with associated structured parking on 11.96 acres located in Ballantyne Corporate Park in Charlotte, N.C.
The Boyle and Harris buildings were awarded LEED Gold Certification for their green design and construction features, which include 100% recycled steel materials, solar heating panels, captured rainwater and reflective roofs to reduce heat absorption.
