The state government of New Mexico has extended tax credits for sustainable residential and commercial buildings through 2016.
The Associated Press reports that the New Mexico Energy Conservation and Management Division supports the extension because it believes the tax credits offer an incentive for encouraging high-quality, energy-efficient residential and commercial construction. The state's 2013 fund for residential tax credits already reached its $5 million cap, and the new tax credits will be rolled into the 2014 fund that was recently signed into law by Gov. Susana Martinez.
