Bill King has joined collateral valuation and risk assessment solutions provider Platinum Data Solutions as senior vice president, valuation solutions.

King, who has more than 30 years of experience in the mortgage and valuation industries, was previously director of valuation services for Veros Real Estate Solutions. Prior to working with Veros, he was founder, president and chief appraiser of ValueOne Appraisal, a Pacific Northwest appraisal company.

In addition, King was a founder and board member of the Appraiser's Coalition of Washington, which lobbied the state government on legislation affecting real estate appraisers. He also worked for real estate technology firm FNC and as a real estate agent in Tacoma, Washington.

King is certified as a USPAP instructor by the Appraisal Qualifications Board and maintains active appraiser and real estate broker licenses in the state of Washington. According to a company press release, he has been a key force in the creation and adoption of some of the industry's most widely used valuation technologies. He spent more than two decades as a forensic expert in the valuation and housing segments; taught dozens of appraisal courses over 20 years, including Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice qualification and update courses; and contributed to ‘The Appraisal of Real Estate,’ the most widely used appraisal textbook in the country.

He also served as a member of the Appraisal Institute, where he educated congressional members about pending legislation and created model engagement agreements.

In his new role, King will be tasked with enhancing and expanding Platinum Data Solutions' line of valuation solutions.

In April Platinum Data Solutions announced that it had entered into a partnership with ValuTrac Software to integrate ValuTrac's ValuTrac Pro appraisal management system with Platinum's RealView configurable appraisal data quality verification technology.
