Property & Portfolio Research (PPR), a provider of commercial real estate forecasts, has enhanced the granular data available in its U.S. retail property offerings. These enhancements enable clients to analyze localized supply of commercial retail properties and consumer demand demographics through PPR's Portal application environment, the company says.
Supply at the micro-market level will be detailed by subclass, including grocery-anchored, big-box/power centers and regional malls. Users can also view and export tabular data or overlay specific types of properties on a thematic map of key demographic variables. Subsequent enhancements will also allow clients to slice new construction and sales transactions down by retail subclasses.
‘It's critical for retail investors and lenders to understand the competitive supply and consumer demand characteristics at the asset level,’ says Suzanne Mulvee, the real estate strategist leading retail research for PPR. ‘These enhancements will give users the tools to do just that – to analyze the competitive set of investor-grade properties within a specific retail subcategory and the key consumer demographics that will drive retail demand and ultimately property investment performance.’
