Fewer mortgages backed by Radian Guaranty Inc., the mortgage insurance subsidiary of Radian Group Inc., were delinquent in December compared to November.
The firm reports that 45,319 loans backed by its mortgage insurance were late as of the end of the month. That's down 611 loans compared to the end of November, when 45,908 were delinquent.
The firm saw 4,004 loans become delinquent during the month, while 3,560 were ‘cured’ or, in other words, became current. The remaining loans were still in process.
At the end of December 2013, Radian had about 60,909 loans in its delinquent inventory.
The firm reports that it had more than $3.43 billion in primary new mortgage insurance underwritten as of the end of December 2014.
