The Conference of State Bank Supervisors (CSBS) and the American Association of Residential Mortgage Regulators have announced the election of Donald DeBastiani as chairman of the Multi-State Mortgage Committee (MMC). Charlie Fields has been elected as the vice chairman of the MMC.
The MMC was created by state financial regulators to coordinate examination and supervision of those mortgage lenders and brokers operating in more than one state.
DeBastiani is director of the Bureau of Non-Depository Examinations in the Pennsylvania Department of Banking – a post he has held since 2004. In this role, he has oversight over mortgage providers, car dealers, debt management companies, money transmitters, check casher and pawn brokers.
Fields is director of the Non-Depository Entities Division of the North Carolina Office of Commissioner of Banks. He has been with the NCCOB since 2000, and has served as director since 2006Â As director of the Non-Depository Entities division, Fields has oversight of mortgage lenders, brokers, servicers, as well as consumer finance companies, money transmitters, check cashers and refund anticipation loan facilitators.Â
