Mortgage industry veteran John H. Smith has joined Veri-Tax LLC as vice president of sales.
Smith has more than 20 years of experience in the mortgage, financial and verification industries. Previously, he was the national sales director at Data Verify, a CBCInnovis company. Prior to Data Verify, he held positions at Equifax, Interthinx and First American CoreLogic.
One of Smith's claims to fame was his involvement in the development of DISSCO, the first automated fraud tool for the banking, mortgage and government sectors. The tool was introduced in 2000.
In his new role, Smith will be responsible for managing Veri-Tax's business development initiatives, as well as leading the company's national sales team.
He will also be in charge of continuing the company's ongoing improvements of its service delivery, according to a press release.
Founded in 1998, Veri-Tax provides a full array of verification and fraud management products to the mortgage lending and consumer credit industries.
