Mortgage industry veteran Wade Hamby, who currently serves as business development manager for The StoneHill Group, has received the Brown L. Whatley Award from the Mortgage Bankers Association of Florida.
Given during the association's 2013 convention, the award recognizes the most outstanding member of the year for their contributions to the association and the industry in the state of Florida.
The award is named after Brown L. Whatley, a respected member of the mortgage banking and real estate community during his decades of service. Whatley served as a president of the Mortgage Bankers Association of America and helped develop the state association in Florida. What's more, he is the namesake for a municipal park in Jacksonville, Fla.
